Preston Pointe Office Building
Louisville, Kentucky
Preston Pointe is mixed use high-rise building of remarkable character. It respects the height and scale of Main Street, at four and five stories but rises to a height of thirteen stories on the riverside providing sweeping views and recognizing the kinetic activity of the river front re-development area. Preston Pointe features five levels of office space and four residential condominiums on the upper two floors. The extreme height is achieved by a bold, arching roofline, coming to a sharp point at one corner of the building. The 100,000-square-foot, world-class office/condominium building required world-class engineering and that is why Kerr-Greulich was selected to provide the MEP design.
Highlights include:
Air-to-air energy recovery system for building exhaust and outside air used throughout.
Individual floor electric metering.
100% redundant fire/sprinkler system; if Metro water system fails, there is a 90-minute sprinkler function back-up.
The majority of mechanical equipment is hidden within the eighth-floor, and inside the final sloping space in the tower.
