Restoration and Repairs of Mordecai Lincoln House

Lincoln Homestead State Park features the original home of Abraham Lincoln's Mother, along with the
home of Mordecai Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln's Uncle. The Mordecai Lincoln House is located across
from the golf course on its original site. This two story historic home is 900 square feet per floor. Kerr-
Greulich Engineers provided the new HVAC system, plumbing and upgraded electrical systems.
Highlights of KGEI design include:
Complete renovation of all piping and plumbing fixtures, including upgrades to meet current code or for ADA compliance.
Design of heat-pump air-handling unit to condition the indoor spaces, along with necessary exhaust. Outdoor air was provided via renovated operable windows.
Complete rewiring of the electrical distribution system utilizing the existing main feed and panel. New service to the air-handling unit. The lighting for the building was handled by lamps plugged into receptacles, so strategic placement of some receptacles was necessary.
