Western Kentucky University - E.A. Diddle Arena

In 2003, the Western Kentucky University Hilltoppers opened the season in the newly renovated, E.A. Diddle Arena. The renovated arena contains 16 luxury suites, a new playing floor, all-new seating, concessions, restroom areas, elevator access to all levels, new sound and lighting systems, two new auxiliary gymnasiums, new training and weight rooms, air conditioning, and new locker and office space complex facilities for multiple sports and athletic administration. Kerr-Greulich provided the fast-track MEP design.
Some highlights of the work include:
10-week design / 10-month construction schedule.
90,000 square foot renovation and addition with new mechanical and electrical systems.
28,000 cfm of energy recovery savings over 80-tons of cooling.
Lighting and controls for televised sports.
Automated energy management system.
Fabric duct installation to avoid added steel roof supports.
