Hardin Memorial Hospital
Elizabethtown, Kentucky
Hardin Memorial Hospital is a 300-bed, regional healthcare center. Kerr-Greulich's involvement dates back to 1991 when we completed the MEP design for the 8-story Bed Tower, adjacent to the existing hospital. We have continued our work over the years (40+ projects) including the completion of the Outpatient and Endoscopy Surgery Center (OESC) in 2005.
Selected design features include:
Because of the size of the facility, the HVAC systems cover a full spectrum of options. Most recently, in the OESC, Kerr-Greulich designed a laminar air-distribution system and low temperature/humidity control for all six operating rooms using water-to-water subcooling technology.
Clean steam generation for sterile processing and humidification of Patient Care areas.
Renovation of the sterile DPTM to include the use of ethylene oxide.
A deionized water system was designed to supply sub-sterile washers and endoscope washers.
Relocation of two (2) 15kv primary services which served a 1986 building addition and a 1993 building addition to allow for the construction of the OESC; work was completed with hospital under normal patient load.
